Allergies

When: 11/14/2012 6:30-8:30 pm
Where: Ebenezer Child Care Centers South Milwaukee Daycare Facility
Presented by: Ann McKillip

In the training participants will learn the difference between a food allergy and a food intolerance, how to administer an Epi-Pen, what foods to avoid in young children, how to read food labels, how to avoid cross contamination when preparing and serving food, and how to keep parents notified about special snacks being served in your classrooms.  Participants will also learn about some fun resources and activities to use with children in the classroom to teach them about friends who have allergies.  With approximately 3 million children in the United States having a food allergy, and 18% of them having reactions in their schools each year, it is important to keep up-to-date on current food allergy information and to develop a plan on how to handle food allergies in your child care center.
