Last week, all of the the children at every one of the Ebenezer Child Care Centers celebrated the “Week of the Young Child.” It was the 40th celebration of this annual event created by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families, and to recognize the quality early childhood programs and services that address these.
In Mequon the Ebenezer Child Care Center did a variety of fun activities. On Monday, parents were able to pick up their own personalized rising star button and wear it proudly to work. On Tuesday, parents were treated to breakfast on the go. Then on Wednesday, the Mequon Ebenezer Child Care Center created a “Teacher Walk of Fame” where parents could write little words of thanks to the teachers that care for their children. Finally, Thursday was Art Collaboration Day where parents were encouraged to take a little time out of their busy day to paint a picture with their child. A fun “Week of the Young Child” banner was also made by the school age children that attend the center before or after school.
