Wauwatosa’s Mayor Ehley Stops By for a Week of the Young Child Visit

From April 15 through April 19, each of the Ebenezer Child Care Centers throughout Greater Milwaukee celebrated the Week of the Young Child. The purpose of this week was to focus on the importance of early childhood education as a foundation of lifelong learning. Every day, the centers celebrated the important parts of young children’s lives including their parents, teachers, noteworthy members of the communities they live in and themselves.

The Wauwatosa Child Care Center, located within the UnitedHealth office building, invited Mayor Ehley, a very important person in their community, to come visit their center. She gladly accepted their invitation to meet their children, and to read stories to the center’s two year-olds and preschoolers.

The children loved their special guest, who read to them A Pocket Full of Kisses by Audrey Penn, as well as a few other books of the children’s choosing! It was a really fun event, and Ebenezer would like to thank Mayor Ehley for coming in to brighten our children’s day!

During the Week of the Young Child, Ebenezer also celebratesd Child Abuse Prevention Month, by handing out blue ribbons and information about child abuse to  parents and children. Thanks to everyone for helping make Week of the Young Child a success!
