Ebenezer Child Care Centers Unveils A NEW Summer Blast Program for 2016 that Focuses on Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Fun and exciting learning opportunities are available for children who enroll in Ebenezer Child Care Centers’ 2016 Summer Blast Program. This year’s program will run from June 6 – August 26 at Ebenezer’s Southside (1496 South 29th Street), Downtown (340 West St. Paul Avenue), Oak Creek (220 West Forest Hill Avenue), and Wauwatosa (UnitedHealth Group Building at 10701 West Research Drive) locations.

According to Beverly Anderson, executive director for Ebenezer Child Care Centers, “We’ve completely revamped our Summer Blast Program for 2016 to highlight Wisconsin and all the great things about our state! There will be an engaging, age-appropriate curriculum and fun field trips that teach our children about Wisconsin’s waterways, recreation and food. Our well-trained and enthusiastic child care professionals are so excited to launch this new program. It really will be the perfect way for children through age 12 to spend their summer!”

This year’s themes include:

June: Wisconsin Waterways

In June, the Summer Blast participants will explore Wisconsin waterways and all they have to offer. From being a means of transportation to a source of food, to the different types of animals that live in and around them, and the different types of ecosystems they support, Wisconsin waterways are the source of endless curiosity and ample opportunities. Activities may include boat rides, learning to fish, a visit to the Reiman Aquarium inside Discovery World, and so much more.

July: Recreation in Wisconsin
In July, the Summer Blast participants will make Wisconsin its endless playground. They will explore the numerous options that the state offers for fun and recreation. With many trails to explore and parks to play at, there will be no time for video games and TV. Activities may include taking in a baseball game, bowling, hiking, and visiting the critters at the zoo. Participants will also learn what is involved with going camping including all the equipment needed to pull off a successful trip. Who knows, maybe your child can plan the next family vacation!

August: Wisconsin Eats
In August, the Summer Blast participants will investigate the different cultural communities that call Wisconsin home and sample foods from some of the most prominent groups. They will also discover some of Wisconsin’s top agriculture products. Activities may include a trip to the State Fair, a visit to a nearby farm, and a tour of a cheese factory. Participating in our centers’ garden harvest will give participants the opportunity to learn how to grow their own food.

There is a program fee for preschool and school-age children who participate in Ebenezer’s 2016 Summer Program to help defray the costs of the field trips, special activities, and special guests. In addition, families will be charged Ebenezer’s standard weekly tuition fee which varies depending on the age of the child. All preschool and school-age children will receive a specially-designed summer program t-shirt. To register or for more information, contact Ebenezer Child Care Centers at 414-643-5070.
