Ebenezer Child Care Centers Downtown Milwaukee location was proud to welcome State Senator Nikiya Harris on February 18. She came to the center to read a story in honor of Black History month. Senator Harris read, “Luke Goes To Bat,” by Rachel Isadora. This is a great story with an important message about not giving up. Afterward, she talked to the children about this, why they should never give up, and asked them all sorts of questions about what they had learned from the story.
When Senator Harris was in college she worked as a preschool and infant teacher so she fit right in and the children absolutely loved her. As you can see from our pictures, she began her story in our special rocking chair but quickly moved to the floor so she could be closer to the kids. Thank you Senator Harris for a very engaging visit!
