The following link http://icw.uschamber.com/sites/default/files/ICW_EarlyChildhoodReport_2010.pdf is a to a fascinating study conducted by the US Chamber of Commerce, the world’s largest business federation representing the interestes of more than 3 million businesses. It goes into great depth as to why it is in a business’s best interest to support early child care in the communities they are located in. It points out how nearly 50 percent of women work outside of the home and how the first 5 years of a child’s life are most critical to their development. Knowing this, as a society we need to be working together to make sure that the child care we offer our children is as best as possible. This in turn will help to ensure a successful future for the cities we live in.
